I thought it was really, really good. I haven’t had one of the assorted superhero shows shift my view of where a franchise is headed anywhere near this much; its happened for characters; Hawkeye in particular, but not like, trajectory of the story.
I’m pretty convinced either Batman Part 2 or if it gets made, Penguin season 2, will feature Oswalds ascension to mayor and part 3 will be Batmans’ response to that.
Lottie, your analysis of The Penguin is so detailed and engrossing that I almost am tempted to watch the show. If I get hooked on a series, unfortunately, it will only take time away from developing my own projects. Of course, I could always label it as research, but right now I am not that interested in dark stories, with antiheroes as the central characters. Most of my projects revolve around reluctant, but loveable, heroes with seemingly unsurmountable challenges to overcome.
I am more interested in making films that, uplift, inspire and make an audience feel that anything is possible.
I definitely think your analysis though, is far superior to most of the top reviewers in the business.
Brilliantly written Lottie. An engrossing review that mirrors my thoughts on the show.
A triumph indeed.
Thank you so much for the kind words!
Anyway….

Omg thank you so much for the kind words! I’d honestly give it a go cause it’s incredible🌟
Fwiw Oz is absolutely not an antihero in this.
Oz was a villain in Batman as was the Joker. When you put that character in the role of the protagonist in a film, they are often called an anti-hero.
Yeah, I know. He still doesn't suit the term even in the confines of the show. Sofia does. Oz does not.
it's truly a remarkable triumph! i can't stop talking about it.
